Review Your Transfer Credit Evaluation

Upon your admission, your college transcripts are reviewed. In your , go to DegreeWorks to see your courses that already have equivalencies and courses that may need submitted for review. If you have NOEQs, submit a Transfer Equivalency Review Request for each course.

Please directly connect with your academic adviser about your credit evaluation. Also, you may receive a transfer credit evaluation email from our 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ Registrar’s Office to your 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ MIX email.

To register for your first semester at 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ, you must meet with an academic adviser by email, phone or in-person. Only your adviser can lift your registration hold for you. To get started, contact the transfer academic adviser for your college/school or program.

Submit the FAFSA

The 2025-26 FAFSA will be available to students on or before December 1. Our FAFSA priority deadline is March 1. We encourage all students to submit the FAFSA. Our school code is 003827. The FAFSA is required for Federal and State aid programs.

Accept or Decline Aid

There is no separate application for transfer merit scholarships, but you must be admitted by December 1, 2024 for the spring 2025 semester and by June 1, 2025 for the fall 2025 semester for scholarship consideration.

You can review, accept or decline aid through the . Aid adjustments are posted in the 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ Portal. Acceptance of scholarships and aid is non-binding – you forfeit your award if you cancel your application or attendance.

Pay the Academic Deposit

Students who plan to live in a 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ residence hall and/or participate in an Adventure WV Trip are required to pay the academic deposit.

The academic deposit is fully refundable if you submit the by May 1 for students enrolling in the fall and December 1 for students enrolling in the spring.

Apply for Housing

If you are transferring fewer than 24 credits: Apply for housing in a residence hall. 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ has a .

Transferring with 24 or more credits? You’re not required to live on campus and may choose from University Apartments, off-campus housing and residence halls.

Reminder: You must pay your academic deposit before applying for housing.

Choose a Dining Plan

Everyone living in campus housing is required to purchase an on-campus student dining plan. Commuters and those living off-campus have the option of purchasing an off-campus student plan.

Complete New Student Orientation

Spring 2025 new students: Transfer NSO registration opens in mid-fall. Watch your MIX email for a registration announcement.

Fall 2025 new students: Transfer NSO registration opens in the summer. Watch your MIX email for a registration announcement.

Complete Health Insurance Waiver

All students enrolling in 6 or more credits are required to have health insurance coverage. You will be billed for the 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ Aetna health insurance plan unless you opt out by completing the student health insurance waiver.

Admitted for the spring 2025 term? The opens late fall.

Submit Your Final Transcript

When you complete all courses at your current college/university, request that your current registrar forward us an updated official transcript showing your final grades. The 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ Office of Admissions will accept official transcripts from your college registrar via Parchment, E-Scripts, National Clearing House or officially sealed envelope mailed to:

Pay Your Bill

Spring 2025 new students: Your first semester charges will be available in 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ MyAccount (via 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ Portal) in late fall. If you owe a balance you will receive a billing notification and payment deadline in your MIX email.

Fall 2025 new students: In early July, your fall semester charges will be available in 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ MyAccount (via 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ Portal). If you owe a balance, you will receive a billing notification in your MIX email. Payment is due August 1.

Tip: are available to break up your semester's tuition and fees into smaller, more manageable installments.

Welcome home! If you are living in a 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ residence hall, details for move-in will be sent to your 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ MIX email. If you are living off-campus or in University Apartments, contact your property manager for move-in information.

Start your college experience like a real Mountaineer. Our optional Adventure WV First-Year Trips are peer-led, adventure-based programs that will prepare you for life at 51ÂÒÂ×»»ÆÞ. All trips take place in June, July or August. Registration opens in February 2025.

You must pay your academic deposit before registering for an Adventure WV trip.
